Becoming a Resident

Maybe you even know someone who would like to donate their house to The Lily House?

 

The Lily House will provide residents with holistic care, including physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support. Residents will be provided a private bedroom with access to shared living space. Accommodations for loved ones who wish to stay overnight will be offered, especially during vigil sitting and active dying. The maximum number of residents living at The Lily House at any time will be three. 


To Live at The Lily House, Residents Must

be enrolled with a Medicare-funded hospice organization
have a medical diagnosis of three months or less to live
have chosen to stop receiving curative treatments
have decided not to be resuscitated and to allow for a natural death


24/7 Hospice-Level Continuum of Care
Lily House professional staff of caregivers and trained community volunteers will provide residents with attentive personal care, including:

bathing, toileting, and dressing
transfers and repositioning
medication management
meal preparation and assistance with eating
laundry and housekeeping
pain and symptom management
 

Coordination with Medical Hospice Providers
Lily House staff will work closely with the residents' hospice providers to ensure the specific healthcare needs of the residents are met.

Additional Services and Programs
The Lily House will provide comfort care services, doula support, after-death care and bereavement support. Residents, as well as their loved ones, are invited to participate in our community-based death education and contemplative arts workshops. 


How Much Does It Cost to Live at The Lily House?
The Lily House will operate on a pay-as-you-can, pay-it-forward model. To the extent they are able, residents and loved ones will be invited to contribute toward the operational costs of The Lily House. Those in need may live at The Lily House free-of-charge. 


How Does One Become a Resident at The Lily House?
Once The Lily House is operational, an application will be available online. 
After an initial consultation to determine if The Lily House is the right choice, a residency agreement must be completed. A bedroom will be provided based upon availability and need. In the meantime, we welcome inquiries.
