The Lily House Family

Debra DeMuth

Director of Resident Care

After college in Ohio, Debra spent 12 years in the NYC advertising world. She was most grateful for the opportunity to live near her grandparents at that time with whom she forged strong bonds, and to companion her grandfather at his bedside while he took his last breath. This inspired her to explore social work—earning a MSW from Springfield College with distinguished honors—while raising 3 sons and moving to Western MA. Debra then engaged her passion for fostering trauma-informed communities by working as a clinician at hospitals, mental health clinics and for the Department of Mental Health as Southeast Director, which brought her to Cape Cod. Inspired by a desire to reconnect with her interest in end-of-life work, Debra completed death doula training, began volunteering with the Lily House and working as a hospice social worker and grief counselor. Now, as Lily House Director of Resident Care, she greets residents and their loved ones with an open heart, meeting them where they are on their journeys and honoring their unique paths. Debra lives in Brewster with her partner, 2 dogs and when possible is gardening, meditating, singing or swimming.
