Blooming Hearts

To help celebrate our two-year anniversary and sustain our work, we invite you to join Blooming Hearts, our community of donors who make recurring donations to the Lily House.

Since we opened our doors, we have cared for 39 beautiful souls—at no cost to those in need—as they’ve navigated their end-of-life journeys, surrounding them with comfort and love during their final days.

With your generosity, we can continue to provide our residents with the highest quality end-of-life care possible. Gifts of all sizes are welcomed, appreciated, and will help provide around-the-clock skilled care and unconditional love to every resident.

This home belongs to all of us. Together, we are modeling what it looks like to care for each other in death.

JOIN BLOOMING HEARTS

Circle of Care

We invite you to join our Circle of Care: Love in Action, a community of philanthropists who are passionate about

our work and committed to supporting the Lily House in the long-term by making a three-year annual pledge of

$10,000, $15,000 or $25,000.

Your Circle of Care pledge will help us provide:

• End-of-life care at no cost for those in need

• Death education programming and advocacy

• Equitable compensation & living wages for our staff

The Lily House is a safe refuge, a beacon of love, an oasis of compassion & a model of community-centered care—

a home where we come together to care for each other at the end of life.

By joining our Circle of Care, you will help us sustain the Lily House for years to come.

Gifts may be made in full annually, or in installments over the course of each year, in cash or stock. You may give anonymously if you choose & we invite you to give in memory of a loved one.

Other Ways to Give

Host a Fundraiser at Home
Gather a group of friends and share your passion for The Lily House! We will help you organize an event hosted by you at your home, and will attend the event to share information and answer questions about The Lily House. The kind of event is up to you—brunch, afternoon tea, cocktail hour, buffet supper, ice cream social. Whatever inspires you, we’ll be there!

Donor Advised Funds
A philanthropic version of an investment account, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are one of the most tax-advantageous and easiest ways to give. If you have a DAF, such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, BNY Mellon, or any other of the numerous DAFs available, please consider giving to The Lily House.

Gifts of Stock

A gift of stock to The Lily House will help you avoid capital gains tax while helping to provide a community home for living and dying with around-the-clock compassionate comfort care. You may give through our Lily House account at Commonwealth Financial Network: DTC# 0226 and ACCT# H2Y-381722

Legacy Giving

How will you be remembered? Your commitment to improving the end-of-life experience for Cape residents for generations to come can be part of your lasting legacy. Leaving a gift to The Lily House—via a bequest, trust, or charitable gift annuity—reflects your belief that all of us have the right to die with dignity, agency, and comfort while being surrounded by love.

IRA Gifts

If you are 70 or older, a direct transfer of funds from your IRA account can be a great way to give to the Lily House and does not create taxable income or require a charitable tax deduction. If you are 72 or older, the transfer of funds can count towards your annual Required Minimum Distribution.

Employment Giving
Many companies offer a Matching Gift Program to encourage philanthropic giving and double the impact of your gift. Contact your employer’s HR department to see if this is an option for you. Gifts from retirees and spouses may also qualify.  Private employers and federal, state, and local government all offer payroll deduction opportunities for giving. Check with your employer’s HR department for more information about this easy way to give.

If you have any questions, please contact Gemma Leghorn, Director of Community Engagement, at info@thelilyhouse.org.
