Thank You!

Founders Circle

The Founders Circle is a group of forward-thinking philanthropists who have committed to giving a minimum of $10,000 per year for three consecutive years, beginning in 2021 or 2022.

These gifts are crucial start-up funds. They will ensure The Lily House mission—to provide a home for end-of-life compassionate care at no cost for those in need—is sustained in our first years of operation.

The goal for the Founders Circle is $350,000 in annual gifts, pledged for three years. Gifts can be made in installments over the course of each year, in cash or stock. Gifts may be made anonymously, and also in memory of a loved one.

In meeting this goal, we will be able to provide a beautiful home for 20-25 terminally ill individuals each year—individuals in our communities who would otherwise be faced with dying in a hospital or other facility, and at increased risk of dying alone.

We invite you to join our Founders Circle, and help us create a community home where we support our residents to live fully and die peacefully—while being cared for with love.

In recognition of the Founders Circle, we will create a perennial Founders Garden at the Lily House with individual names engraved on a hand-selected stone placed within the garden.

Other Ways to Give

Host a Fundraiser at Home
Gather a group of friends and share your passion for The Lily House! We will help you organize an event hosted by you at your home, and will attend the event to share information and answer questions about The Lily House. The kind of event is up to you—brunch, afternoon tea, cocktail hour, buffet supper, ice cream social. Whatever inspires you, we’ll be there!

Donor Advised Funds
A philanthropic version of an investment account, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are one of the most tax-advantageous and easiest ways to give. If you have a DAF, such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, BNY Mellon, or any other of the numerous DAFs available, please consider giving to The Lily House.

Gifts of Stock

A gift of stock to The Lily House will help you avoid capital gains tax while helping to provide a community home for living and dying with around-the-clock compassionate comfort care. You may give through our Lily House account at Commonwealth Financial Network: DTC# 0226 and ACCT# H2Y-381722

Legacy Giving

How will you be remembered? Your commitment to improving the end-of-life experience for Cape residents for generations to come can be part of your lasting legacy. Leaving a gift to The Lily House—via a bequest, trust, or charitable gift annuity—reflects your belief that all of us have the right to die with dignity, agency, and comfort while being surrounded by love.

IRA Gifts

If you are 70 or older, a direct transfer of funds from your IRA account can be a great way to give to the Lily House and does not create taxable income or require a charitable tax deduction. If you are 72 or older, the transfer of funds can count towards your annual Required Minimum Distribution.

Employment Giving
Many companies offer a Matching Gift Program to encourage philanthropic giving and double the impact of your gift. Contact your employer’s HR department to see if this is an option for you. Gifts from retirees and spouses may also qualify.  Private employers and federal, state, and local government all offer payroll deduction opportunities for giving. Check with your employer’s HR department for more information about this easy way to give.

If you have any questions, please contact Anne Cowie, Lily House Development Chair, at development@thelilyhouse.org.
