Loren was an early, first-hire employee of MathWorks, helping craft the organizational mission, vision, and values statements from the ground up. She served at MathWorks for 35 years, working as a software engineer and technical consultant, contributing to the MathWorks legal team, and authoring the blog, The Art of MATLAB. Loren retired in 2022 and divides her time between Brookline and Truro. She is excited to be getting more deeply involved in the Outer Cape Community. The first time she heard about the Lily House, she was intrigued. Of the Lily House, she said to herself, “This is the kind of group I want to work with.” An organization whose mission and values align and resonate with hers. At the Lily House, this means focusing on meeting the unique end-of-life care needs of individuals and providing support for their family and friends, while also creating a healthy and supportive environment for staff and volunteers in which to work—all in service to people who might otherwise find themselves in true isolation at the end-of-life.
