The Lily House Family

Kim Crawford Harvie

Secretary

Kim was raised in Concord, Massachusetts and graduated with honors from Middlebury College (Vermont) and Harvard Divinity School. Ordained into the Unitarian Universalist ministry in 1984, she served congregations on Cape Cod, most notably in Provincetown at the height of the AIDS crisis. In 1989, she was called to Arlington Street Church in Boston, where she continues to serve as Senior Minister. “Gathered in love and service for justice and peace,” Arlington Street has a long history of social justice activism, including being at the forefront of the anti-slavery and suffragist movements, and, in modern times, of the anti-war and civil rights movements. In 2004, Kim performed the first legal same-sex marriage in a church in the United States. Having raised three daughters (the younger two adopted in Peru), Kim and her wife, Kem Morehead, a math teacher, now serve as house parents at Concord Academy.
