Suncatchers: A Community Gathering for Remembrance
Sunday Afternoon, June 22
RSVP for Suncatchers

Join us for our first annual remembrance ceremony on Sunday, June 22, from 4:00-6:00 pm at Wellfleet Preservation Hall. Suncatchers: A Community Gathering for Remembrance will honor residents who have died at the Lily House since we opened our doors in October 2023, and all those we've loved who have passed.

To date, the Lily House has cared for 32 residents from 15 different towns and villages across the Cape & Islands. We cared for each resident with love throughout their end-of-life journey.
Suncatchers is an opportunity to gather once again with friends and family in celebration and remembrance.

Suncatchers is also an opportunity for us to gather as a community to remember all those we’ve loved who have passed. We invite all attendees to bring photos and/or mementos of their beloveds— human and animal—to adorn a community altar.

Whether you have experienced the death of a loved one recently or many years ago,
this event is for you. Together, we will join in song and ceremony, keeping the spirits of those we love close.

As we gather on the weekend of the summer solstice, we acknowledge the significance of the longest day. The word solstice comes from the Latin
solstitium, meaning "sun standing still.” With the sun high in the sky, it can appear to pause.

Suncatchers invites our community to stand still—like the sun at its peak—and reflect on the love we continue to carry for those who have died.

Suncatchers is free and open to all. Donations are gratefully accepted.
RSVPs requested due to limited space. Please RSVP here.

3rd Annual Celebration of Life & Love! A Benefit for the Lily House
Tuesday July 29 6:00pm-7:30pm at Truro Vineyards
Honoring Sebastian Junger, author of In My Time of Dying

We are thrilled to honor Sebastian Junger, award-winning journalist and #1 New York Times Best Selling author of The Perfect Storm, Tribe, Freedom (among others), and most recently, In My Time of Dying: How I Came Face to Face with the Idea of an Afterlife.

In My Time of Dying has been described as part medical drama, part searing autobiography, and part rational inquiry into the ultimate unknowable mystery. This powerful reflection on death explores questions at the heart of our work at the Lily House.

Join us in honoring Sebastian Junger while supporting the Lily House's mission to provide compassionate end-of-life care at no cost to those in need.
