Lee Swislow

As a nurse caring for some of Boston's first AIDS victims in the early 1980s, Lee’s work focused on guiding and supporting people facing death. She later served as the Head Nurse of Boston City Hospital's AIDS Clinic and the director of Cambridge Hospital's Multidisciplinary AIDS Program. From 2005-2015, Lee was the Executive Director of GLAD (GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders) — facilitating the legal and legislative strategies that achieved marriage equality and myriad other rights for the LGBTQ community. Now retired, Lee lives in Truro.
